Having a baby is considered as a blessing for most parents as their cry and laughter bring bundles of joy to them.
Unfortunately, some parents felt that they are not prepared to take care of their newborn baby. Hence, some of them chose to abandon their baby in public places in hopes that some Good Samaritan will take care of them.
A case like this occurred in Imus, Cavite in which an unknown mother left her baby outside of fast food restaurant Jollibee.
Luckily, a traffic warden saw the baby and took him inside of Jollibee Imus branch to prevent him from dying.
The crew members of that Jollibee branch then took care of him.
In a viral Facebook post by Jesica Tan Verano, a Jollibee employee, the baby boy was brought inside the store and they changed the baby’s diapers.
The baby was also breastfed by Jollibee’s supervisor in that branch to prevent him from starving.
“Kung sino man po ang nag iwan ng sanggol na ito malapit sa store ng Jollibee Imus, pag-asa si God na bahala sayo. Ang cute cute ni Baby! Naiiyak ako kasi iniwan sya ng mga walang kwenta nyang magulang,” Verano wrote on her Facebook post.
Verano added that the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will take the baby and put him under the custody.
Before giving the baby to the DSWD, Verano and other crew members took a selfie with him as a remembrance.
With the actions of these Good Samaritans of Jollibee Imus, they are surely living up to the fast food’s tagline “Bida ang saya!”.
Local authorities are now searching for the identities of the baby boy’s parents.
