When Tina Brazil from Missouri went out one night with her boyfriend, the single mother was not expecting that her life was about to take a tragic turn. A few hours after going out, she returned to see her home was up in flames. However, that was just the beginning of her nightmare.
It was about 1 a.m. when 81-year-old Eddie Helt noticed smoke rising up from a neighboring house in Lake Ozark, Missouri. He saw that the single mother’s car was not in the driveway, so he immediately ordered his wife to call 911.
While the rescue was still on the way, the heroic neighbor rushed to the burning house and tried to save the children trapped inside. However, the flames had engulfed the house so much to the point that anyone within 15 feet was barred from coming closer.
Soon enough, the firefighters arrived followed by the single mother and her boyfriend, Mike Andrews. At the sight of her burning house, the mother went berserk while reportedly shouting: “My children! My kids! My kids!”
In the end, the authorities were not able to enter the burning building. Both Tina and Andrews had to be physically restrained by the firefighters from entering the burning house.
According to a report form Daily Mail, the single mother left her three young sons 8-year-old Carson Otto; 5-year-old Max Otto and 4-year-old Levi Otto under the care of her 14-year-old son, Tyler Otto. Sadly, all four children and two house pets did not make it.
Police decided that the casualties’ parents will not be charged for the incident. Meanwhile, authorities are yet to determine the cause of the fire.
