Two years ago, a Pakistani topped the headlines after it was reported that he had killed his Pinay girlfriend using an electric drill. According to a report, the Pinay was brutally killed in a construction site in TuenMun in Hong Kong.
However, on January 31, 2018, justice was finally served for the family of the 25-year-old victim.
The mother of Andrea Bayr rejoiced after learning that the 28-year-old Pakistani was sentenced by the High Court in Hong Kong to life imprisonment.
In an interview, the mother of the victim expressed her joy and said: “Masaya ako at nakamit na ni Andrea ang hustisya. Matatahimik na siya,” she said.
According to Judge Kevin Zervosthen, the crime of killing committed by the Pakistani Husain, was a kind of brutal and horrific killing.
In the previous hearings, Husnain claimed that he was unaware of the crime and that he was under the influence of drugs during that time. He even stated that his girlfriend transformed into a witch who tried to kill him first.
The jury did not believe his testimonies and sided on the testimony of Haresh Khan, the friend of the suspect.
Based on the testimony, on the night of March 28, 2016, he went to the toilet and heard someone screaming at a nearby container. He then rushed to find out where it was coming from, only to find his friend hitting his girlfriend who was already covered in her own blood.
The police officers who arrived at the crime scene, later on, found the green container covered with blood and trails that led to the location of the suspect.
The suspect, however, was seen sitting with his arms locked around his girlfriend’s neck with an electric drill.
Later on, the psychiatric experts concluded that Husain, the suspect, was under the influence of a drug called ice that causes him to suffer from biochemical changes in his brain.
